Ingredients:

  • 8 slices of your preferred bread (sourdough, ciabatta, or rustic white)

  • 2 cups pulled pork (store-bought or homemade)

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 cup caramelized onions

  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce

  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

Preheat the Blackstone Griddle:

  • Turn on your Blackstone griddle and set it to medium heat. Allow it to preheat for a few minutes.

Warm Up Pulled Pork:

  • If using store-bought pulled pork, warm it on a corner of the griddle.

  • For homemade pulled pork, mix it with barbecue sauce and warm it on the griddle. Keep it to the side while you prepare the other ingredients.

Caramelize Onions:

  • On a separate corner of the griddle, melt a small amount of butter.

  • Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they become caramelized and golden brown. Once done, move them to a plate and wipe the griddle surface.

Assemble the Sandwiches:

  • Lay out 4 slices of bread on a clean surface.

  • Spread a thin layer of caramelized onions on each slice.

  • Divide the pulled pork equally among the 4 slices, spreading it evenly.

Add Cheese and Seasoning:

  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the pulled pork on each slice.

  • Season with a pinch of salt, pepper, and a dash of garlic powder.

Create the Sandwiches:

  • Place the remaining 4 slices of bread on top of each sandwich to form a complete sandwich.

Grill the Sandwiches:

  • Spread a bit of softened butter directly on the griddle surface where the sandwiches will go.

  • Place the assembled sandwiches on the buttered griddle and cook until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese starts to melt. This should take about 3-4 minutes per side.

Serve:

  • Once the sandwiches are cooked, carefully remove them from the griddle.

  • Allow them to cool slightly before cutting each sandwich in half diagonally.

Optional:

  • Serve your Blackstone Griddle Pulled Pork Melts with a side of barbecue sauce for dipping or drizzling.

  • Feel free to customize your sandwiches further with toppings like pickles, coleslaw, or even a sunny-side-up egg.

Enjoy your mouthwatering Blackstone Griddle Pulled Pork Melts, combining the flavors of tender pulled pork, melted cheese, and sweet caramelized onions, all cooked to perfection on the griddle!
